Pizza @ Franco Manca

When I first heard about Franco Manca, I wanted in… a pizza made from slow rising sourdough, UK-sourced (when possible) ingredients, speedy and friendly service, not to pricey, sounds great.  We arranged a get together with our friends  at the restaurant.   Unfortunately, the Tottenham Court road branch doesn’t take reservations, luckily our friends arrived at 6pm (straight from work, it was a Friday night so they bolted out the door as soon as 5 pm struck)!

We were warmly welcomed by the staff who showed us to our friends and left us with a menu to select our drinks.  The drinks selection is fabulous… a full on organic selection of wines, a couple of beers and soft drinks. I opted for the organic lemonade – this gets the thumbs up!  We later on sampled the beer and a very tasty bottle of  Madregal organic wine – no nasties included!

It was so hard to choose from the menu! Eventually, we ordered and the pizzas seem to arrive in no time at all.  I choose Pizza #6 (tomato, organic cured chorizo, mozzarella) with broccoli as an extra… extremely delicious pizza alert and heart shaped awww!  I only tried my own (stupidly) but they were a hit all round.

While dining we noticed a queue at the door, people were willing to wait outside on this chilly February evening for a table at Franco Manca …. and I can kinda understand why, the pizza is VERY tasty and I’ll definitely be recommending.  Once we finished we settled the bill (to make room for the next customers from the queue).  It’s great value for money and worth checking out.
